There's no better cure for the fear of taking after one's father, than not to know who he is.

About This Quote

It is an unfortunate fact of life that we often follow in the footsteps of our parents. We take after them in so many ways, from habits to mannerisms to abilities. Unfortunately, this can make us feel like we are trapped in our parent’s shadow. But one of the best things you can do is to not know who they are.

If you never get to know your parents, you won’t be stuck in their shadow. It takes a lot of courage for people to come out of the shadows of their parents. Many people are too afraid to take risks and do things different from what was expected or taught by their parents.
